A customer called to report that his wife’s car had been stolen at about 4:06am. The Nissan Murano was driven out of their Wuye residence which had been invaded by a large number of armed robbers. They also carted away other valuable items like jewelry, and phones.

At about 4:50 am, the vehicle was shut down around Mpape Junction, near the Murtala Moh’d way, Maitama Junction.

The car was recovered at about 5:40am on Murtala Mohamed Way with the aid of the Nigeria police.

 

Customer complained that vehicle was moved from initial parking space in office environs. The car had been parked for so long without a car battery. The report came in at about 12.58am. The office security guard was nowhere to be found and left the gate wide open. He was the prime suspect. The security guard had stolen the official car with other items, laptops. He broke the store and carted away with many items.

 

 The Official vehicle was tracked down to Idioro street, Ajah, Lagos state. Vehicle was recovered with the aid of the Nigeria police early that morning.

A customer complained that his Honda 2007 was stolen in Delta State. The customer’s wife was a victim of kidnappers who stole the vehicle. The vehicle was tracked to Refinery Road near Kelwe Block industry in Warri. At about 6.30am the next day, the vehicle was recovered with the aid of the Nigeria police.

Customer called at about 10:14 pm to report a stolen Land Cruiser. The car was stolen from his brother’s custody around Banex Plaza, Wuse II. The robbers bundled him into the car and dropped him off after APO area stack naked.

 

The car was shutdown at 10:27pm and located around Madalla before Suleija. The vehicle was recovered with the aid of the Nigerian Police. 

A walk-in customer reported a stolen Toyota Hilux. The car was stolen at gunpoint and the driver beaten into coma state. 

 

The vehicle was located and shutdown at 11.44am at Olawale Crescent, near Coconut bus stop Apapa, Oshodi expresses way.

 

Vehicle was recovered at about 6.24pm and was towed to the police station.

A Toyota Corolla owned by a customer was reported stolen at gun-point in Utako area of Abuja at about 10:05 pm. The location showed somewhere along Nnamdi Azikwe way heading to Murtala Mohammed way. At about 10:35pm car was shut down after Kubwa area and recovered with the help of the Nigerian police.

A customer called to complain about 8.30pm that Nissan Murano was stolen. A gang of 8 armed robbers broke into his house, locked and beat them up. The vehicle was recovered 2 hours later with the help of the Nigerian police.

A Toyota Hilux car was snatched at gun point somewhere in Umuahia, Abia State. COTEK tracked the vehicle down to its last location. The vehicle was recovered with the help of the local vigilante group the next day in Umuahia.

A Toyota Corolla was reported stolen on Friday night at about 10:39pm by customer. He also mentioned that he had reported to the police. The car was armed and engine shut down around 10:38am with location around Nyanya, Abuja. The car was recovered with the help of the Nigeria police. It was covered with tarpaulin and parked in the compound of a house.

On 3^rd June, 2009, a customer visited our office to complain that he had sold his Honda Accord 1998 to a trusted neighbor. The neighbor was at large with the car he hadn’t paid for in past 5months. He requested we located and shutdown the car.

The car was located in Lagos along Ahmadu Bello Road, near Abonta Close, Bishop Oluwole street.

Car was recovered around 1:05pm the next day, with the help of the Nigerian Police.

At  about 8am on the 29^th of May, a customer called to inform us of his stolen car at gunpoint. It was stolen by armed robbers around 9pm the day before.

Immediately, the car was tracked to Kaduna North nearby college road Kinshasa street.

At 8am on the 31st of May, the car was recovered in a Military Barracks in Kaduna North where the car had been parked .

A Honda CRV was reported stolen at about 7.28pm in Ota near Lagos.The car owner got in touch with one of his staff who immediately contacted the COTEK control room. At about 7.33pm she confirmed the car details as requested for by the call center agent. The customer’s staff had already sent an engine disabled command to the car device. After which, she requested for vehicle location. In 20 minutes, the customer called back to confirm the vehicle had stopped at Itele road in Ota drive where it had been stolen. The vehicle was recovered the next morning with the aid of the police

At 2.49pm, a customer called in to report his vehicle which was stolen over 2 hours ago along Nnamdi Azikiwe expressway, Abuja. At about 6:52pm, the vehicle was shut down at around Idekpa-Okpiko road, in Ohimini LGA of Benue State. The vehicle was recovered with the help of the Nigerian police.

A distress call came in through the Front desk reporting a stolen vehicle belonging to a customer in Anambra State.  At about 7.11pm, the car was shut down along Ndizuogu-Okigwe road under Ideato North LGA of Imo State. The vehicle was recovered the next day at 12.12pm with the aid of the Nigerian police force.

 

A Lexus jeep belonging to our customer was reported stolen from his residence at about 7:30pm in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The armed robbers maltreated his family and drove off with his jeep. The customer called  COTEK Control room at about 8:24pm to report the incident. Car was tracked around 8:33pm, was armed and shut down around Oja Oba, near union bank in Ilorin, Kwara State.

At about 11:10pm that same day customer called us to report the car had been recovered.

The vehicle was stolen at Federal Secretariat, Abuja on the 26th of March, 2009. The customer called the control room of COTEK to report the theft event at 3.20pm. The vehicle was immediately tracked and shut down in Suleja, Niger State. At about 6.00pm, the car was fully recovered with the timely help of the the Nigerian Police in the vicinity of a Hotel. This recovery also necessitated the recovery of 2 other stolen vehicles that were packed in same hotel premises. Apparently, it was the den of the thieves.

 

26th March 2009

The Control Room Received a call from one of our Customers around 8:45am informing us that one of his cars was snatched in the city of Akure, Ondo State this morning at about 8am.

 

The car was tracked and shut down at Egbeda in Oyo State along Obaloriegun road at 9:34 am

 

He was asked to get across to the police and expect that we update him with information as regarding the location of the car.

The car was recovered at 12:22pm.

At about 11:37pm Saturday night, our customer called to request that their TOYOTA HIACE BUS be located because a newly employed driver had taken it that morning form Abuja and had not returned. She also said she got report that the driver had falsely said he was on his way to Lagos to pick her up from a conference of which she had no knowledge about.

 

The vehicle was placed on tracking & close watch till morning when it was tracked down to Lekki, in Lagos. The Madam was contacted by our Lagos staff and they went in company of Armed Police men to the area. The area was thoroughly combed and the car was found park at one of the houses in the estate, with the colour changed and number plate changed as well. The driver had absconded. & the house owner was apprehended.

On the 2^nd of February at about 7pm, The Control Center got a call from a client that His car was stolen in ogun. The Vehicle was shutdown and located in Iwoye, Ogun State & Recovered the next day.

A Toyota land cruiser was reported missing on Friday the 23^rd of January 2009. The vehicle was located in Karu and the Engine Shutdown.  

 

The Location was not precise as Street level mapping wasn’t available. The vehicle was recovered on Saturday at 1:45 am by the MD as soon as he arrived Abuja with the help of His Navigator and the Culprit apprehended by the police.

A Honda end of discussion 2003 model car was stolen at about 9 pm and the Engine Shut down. The vehicle wasn’t located until about 4 am due to Poor MTN Service at Gwagwalada.

 

Due to improper & untimely follow-up the unit became unavailable at that time because the battery was disconnected by the robbers. The vehicle was towed and abandoned by the robbers along Kwali Road. The vehicle was recovered by the Police on the 21st of Jan, 2009

On the night of Tuesday 6th January, 2008, the Call Centre received a call at about 7:04 P.M with information that a vehicle had been stolen earlier at Ogere in Ogun State. The robbers held the driver hostage and dropped him off at redeem after confirming that there was no Security in the Car.

 

The Car was placed on tracking and shut down at about 8:20 P.M, at Iwo in Oyo State. The Control Centre & the Police coordinated Rescue and the car was recovery by 10pm.

On the night of Monday 22 December, 2008, the Call Centre received a call at about 7:38 P.M with information that a vehicle had been stolen about 30 minutes earlier at Awka in Anambra State.

 

A decision was made not to shut the engine of the car down because the driver of the vehicle had been taken Hostage and his life might have been placed at great risk. Instead, the car was placed on real-time tracking and updated to know its current location throughout the night.

 

The Call Centre Coordinated Police rescue and recovery and at about 11:20 A.M on 23/12/2008, got confirmation that the vehicle had been recovered and that it was now with the Police. On a less joyous note, (the driver of the recovered vehicle had still not been found and they did not know his where about). Even though Sad, but we thank God.

At about 5.30am on Monday the 15^th of December 2008, a vehicle Toyota Corolla was reported stolen at gunpoint from the user in Ogun state. The robbery took place around 9pm on Sunday 14^th of December.

When the incident was reported to the Lagos Office, who immediately put a call through to the control center to notify them about the incidence. The theft details were very shady and unclear making it difficult to perform an immediate Tracking.

The vehicle has not still been located.

At about few minutes to 10pm one Thursday evening a customer with vehicle model Honda Rav4 2005 came in company of her friend with a distress call that her vehicle was snatched from her husband that evening at about 9:15pm around Sagamu and he was dropped off towards Benin axis of the Sagamu-Benin express way. She claimed that it was reported to the police around the environs there and documents were requested of which the chasis number was given to the police.

 

The Vehicle was recovered by the police at Agoiwoye in Ogun State the Following day.

At around 9:15pm on Thursday 2^nd of October 2008, a group of armed men snatched a Peugeot 307 Green cab belonging to a Customer, in Owerri Imo State. Information about the incident was communicated to COTEK by 11:30pm that same night, immediately the vehicle was tracked to Mbwelli, a town near Orlu in Imo State. The exact location of the vehicle was given to the Customer and the police who moved and recovered the vehicle the at about 8:45pm following night

At around 5:34pm on Monday 29^th of September 2008, a group of armed men snatched a Honda Accord with the above registration number from a client, along Ibadan Ife road. Information about the incident was communicated to COTEK by 8:30am the following day, immediately the vehicle was tracked to Majeroku, a town in Osun State. The exact location of the vehicle was given to the police who moved and recovered the vehicle that Tuesday evening at about 2pm.

At around 7pm on Thursday 11^th of September 2008, a group of armed men snatched a Honda IVtech with the above registration number from a client, along Ore road in Lagos. Information about the incident was communicated to COTEK by 7am the following day, immediately the vehicle was tracked and discovered parked in a mechanic workshop under a bridge at Ogudu GRA Lagos Mainland. The exact location of the vehicle was given to the police who moved and recovered the vehicle that same Friday evening.

At exactly 6pm on Wednesday 3^rd of September 2008, a gang of robbers all dressed in police uniforms, attacked a Hiace bus with the above registration number at Okene in Kogi State. The passengers in the vehicle were all robbed and dropped off the road; the driver was given a thoroughly beating as the robbers eventually left with the bus. Information about the incident got to COTEK at about 8:30pm, with inaccurate car detail. The vehicle was tracked and the engine disabled along Lokoja in Kogi State at 9:30pm. After giving the police information of the exact location of the bus, it was recovered at about 2:17pm Thursday afternoon.

The car was stolen around 7:30 pm on the 21^st of July, 2008. The vehicle –a Toyota Corolla- was snatched at gun point in Owerri, Imo state. The engine was shut down around 8:30pm; the owner of the vehicle was contacted and asked to make contact with the police. The car was recovered on the 22^nd of July, 2008. The driver of the vehicle had been hijacked along with the vehicle, but was discovered in the boot of the vehicle upon recovery.

The vehicle- A white Toyota Hilux- was stolen at 11am in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state. At 1pm COTEK control centre was called with a report of the stolen vehicle. The car was tracked and shut down at 1:01pm its location was Ibadan, Oyo state. A team of COTEK staff and police officers left to recover the vehicle immediately. The car was recovered at 3pm, it was in good condition.

At 10:12pm on the 19^th of June, 2008, the control room received a distress call from a Customer who said her car had been stolen in front of Tantalizers fast food in Garki2. Immediately, the car was tracked down to its location and the engine was immediately shut down, time of shut down- 10:27pm. Thereafter, a challenge with the radio band between COTEK control room and PASS control room caused a slight delay, but immediately contact was established the patrol team swung into action and moved to the location of the vehicle, which was along Murtala Mohammed Expressway, heading towards the outskirts of Abuja. The vehicle was recovered at 11:07pm. The car was not vandalized, but the car keys could not be found, the spare was sent for and the car delivered to its owner.

The vehicle was stolen on the Aba-Umuahia road at gun point. The theft was reported to COTEK at 1:44pm and the vehicle was shut down at 1:47pm. Immediately contact was made with ACP Ahmed Yusuf of Zone 7 Police Command via PASS, he dispatched a patrol team to the shut down site immediately, while the owners of the vehicle also arrived the scene with another team of policemen. The robbers had abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene of the crime. The vehicle was recovered barely an hour after the theft. The vehicle was recovered in good shape by the owners of the vehicle and the police force.

The car was stolen in Gwarimpa under gunpoint, he got in contact with his family and got COTEKs’ number, with which he made contact and reported the case, he also got in touch with the police. The vehicle was tracked to nearby Izom, Niger State and was shut down immediately. And was later discovered by the highway in good condition by a team of policemen and COTEK staff.

This vehicle was snatched along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway. The owner of the vehicle contacted his friend who in turn contacted COTEK with details of the vehicle. The car was tracked and shut down along the expressway. Unfortunately, the car was vandalized a little bit, which was due to frustration on the part of the armed robbers, who had also tried to tow the car, but were not able to.

This car was taken from the driver/owner of the car in a church. He immediately contacted COTEK and the car was tracked down to Zuba, a suburb of Abuja and shut down. It was recovered by a team of policemen and COTEK staff.

The Customer was locked into a toilet and had his car stolen. He was later released and he immediately made for the COTEK office where he made a complaint. In his presence, the exercise of tracking the car begun and the car was traced. The car was tracked and shut down. Three (3) hours later, his car was recovered on the outskirts of Abuja on the way to Kaduna.

The customers’ vehicle was snatched from him about 9pm in Abuja. He was taken along with the robbers and released an hour later into a bush. He immediately contacted COTEK emergency numbers and gave details of his car. The car was tracked and shut down immediately. It was later traced to the outskirts of Abuja. And recovered as early as 8am the following morning.

The car was snatched on a Tuesday night around Ibadan, Oyo state about 10.42pm. The COTEK emergency numbers were called and the staff swung into action. Tracked and traced the vehicle to the Lagos – Ibadan expressway and shut down the vehicle. The car was recovered the next morning around 11am on the road and in one piece.

The car was stolen on a Saturday morning. The customer did well to contact COTEK control centre base immediately. On furnishing the COTEK staff with details, the vehicle was shutdown. Although, the vehicle was not recovered until two (2) days later. This was due to the poor network in the area in which the car was shut down. It was also off the road and so difficult to spot.

The customers’ car was snatched at the gate of his house. He did his best to contact COTEK control base centre. Immediately the car was shut down and recovered in fifteen (15) minutes.

Recovered
